We have participated in several international Dance Festivals around the world, as the Aberdeen Youth Festival in Scotland and other Festivals of Mechelen in Belgium, Dijon in France, Klagenfurt in Austria, Salt Lake City in USA, Gorizia in Italy and Quebec, Toronto, Hull and Drummondville in Canada. We represented Brazil in Havana, Cuba, in an official Cultural Meeting, in 1996. We danced at The American Meeting in 1997, an event held in our city with the presence of the ambassadors and represents of all the countries of the Americas. We were part of the official Cultural Agenda of the ECO-92, held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.

TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA

Our last work called TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA is a contemporary, expressionist conception, based on a homonymous book by the Brazilian writer Rogerio Zola Santiago, mixing dance and theatre. The story happens in a  railway station, when five Brazilians, after loosing their train, get to know each other. The drama starts when they tell, with words(10%) and dance(90%) , how hard their lives are as immigrant. The performance go to different climes going from passionate to anxiety, from anger to humorous, from joy to sorrow. In TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA the emotion and the feelings of the dancers is totally transport to the audience, that lives that moments with them. TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA was directed by the actor and producer Roberto Cordovani (that had win prizes as best actor in Santiago de Compostela and Madrid, in Spain, and in London, UK).
The vanguard choreographs were created by Nora Vaz De Mello, our director, who has prizes as choreographer in Mechellen in Belgium, Klagenfurt in Austria and Drummondville in Canada and Belo Horizonte in Brazil.

TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA made its première in Belo Horizonte, at Alterosa Theater with great success. In December we made partnership between Sindicato dos Jornalistas, Casa do Jornalista e o Sindicato dos Artistas e Técnicos em Espetáculos de Diversões do Estado de Minas Gerais (SATED). Attested by public and critic TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA was considered one of the best cultural products in 1999. It received the Moção de Congratulações given by Belo Horizonte Municipal Chamber congratulating her for the excellent work presented to citizens of our city. It was indicated to win the SATED 1999 award at all the 8 categories as best choreographer, choreographic staging, stage setting, costumes, lighting, male dancer, female dancer, maitre de ballet and the award go to female dancer Patrícia Siqueira.
Actually TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA made a tournée in several cities of our state. The Secretaria Municipal de Cultura invites TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA to participate at the Arena of the Culture with six performances in squares for many regions of Belo Horizonte in June. In July Movement Dance Company was invited to perform TERRA BRASILIS CENIBRA in Paraguay, as CIA invited Opening the Festival Interamerican at Dance. After that they danced as invited company to open the official X Seminary International of Dance in Brasília at National Theatre, where they received a best review from the Brasilian Journalist Marcos Linhares. They danced at the inaugurate of the Dance Avenue with a presence of the journalists from tvs, radios and news papers and dance professionals. A piece from Terra Brasilis Cenibra was recorded in link, with live transmission by Rede Globo de Televisão. In 15 july they danced at Julifest in Poços de Caldas. In 24 we danced at the winter Festival in Baependi. For august and September there are many other performances booked.
